Test to Impress – LNG Industry March 2015 issue

LNG Industry Article

Barry Wilder, Severn Glocon, UK, shares standards and procedures that can boost the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of the cryogenic testing process for LNG valves.

The hazardous properties of LNG are well known.  LNG plants are typically equipped with several thousands valves and many of these have an important function in terms of user safety, process stability or both.  Since valves inherently represent a potential weak point for any process system, their integrity and reliability is vital to maintain plant safety and efficiency. Poor valve performance can result in fugitive emissions which breach environmental and safety parameters as a well as wasting valuable product.’
